Dancing with Chuck'E'Cheese

Apple Slide

Bekah and Mommy going down slide at Apple place

Sorry it took me so long to re-post.

New Windows

After a year of promising, our landlord has finally put new windows in Bekah's room and our office. The old ones were horrible. He didn't finish till after Bobby left for work, and then he didn't put the blinds back up. Can you picture what happened next?

Pregnant woman standing on a chair trying to put them back up. Didn't work too well, but it'll have to do till tomorrow. Bobby won't get home till after Bekah goes to bed. She already has a hard time sleeping with the amount of light that comes through the blinds, let alone with no blinds at all.

I guess I should just be thankful we actually have the windows. Next come the front windows. He measured the existing ones, so maybe they'll be put in before this next baby comes.

Appointment

The nurse found the heartbeat right away again. 4 weeks ago it was at 161, today it was 150. The nurse said that a lot of times girls start out low and go high, and boys start out high and go low. Bobby was pretty happy to hear this from her. I don't remember what Bekah's was, so I can't compare and doubt the nurse.
Ultrasound scheduled for 12:40 on the day before Thanksgiving. Keep those fingers crossed!! Between Bobby, Dylan, and some of my students, I'm being out voted about the girl vs. boy question. Anybody else think we need another girl???

New coat and 16 weeks

Not really new, but a coat my parents got Bekah at the end of the season last year that now fits her perfectly. How cute!!

16 weeks today. We go to the doctor tomorrow. We will get to hear the heart beat and schedule our ultrasound for 4 weeks from now. Exciting!! I'm rooting for a girl!!

Rest of the Weekend

Picking out pumpkins on Saturday.

My dad won a "Care" award at the hospital he works at, so they gave him an apron with his picture on it. How thoughtful. :~)

Sally, a friend from way back, stopped by on Saturday night at my parents' house to see Bekah and my sister's kids.

Phil and Michelle Strahm. Married in Plain City, OH on October 21. Phil helped Bobby with the youth group back in Marion.

The pumpkin that Bobby and Rich carved this weekend. It has become a tradition with the 2 of them that they didn't get to do last year.

Party #2

On Friday, we drove 12 hours from Myrtle Beach to Columbus, OH to spend time with my family. We hadn't seen them since July. We celebrated a belated birthday for Bekah and the birthday of my nephew Dylan who will be six on Friday. We celebrated yesterday after church at Chuck'E'Cheese. I have a few pictures for now, but will later post a great video of Bekah dancing and hugging Chuckee.

Broken

As I posted last week, we got a flat tire on our way to Myrtle Beach. Several other things were broken that week.
Our hotel room was an efficiency, so it had a kitchen. When I was drying a Pyrex glass dish, I dropped it. The whole room was tile. It shattered and went everywhere!!
The floors are still tile, and I dropped my nasal spray in the bathroom (glass bottle). Needless to say, I didn't have my allergy medicine from Tuesday till Sunday night.
All in all, it was a great trip despite the dropsies.

The Last Few Days

The Last few days have been eventful. We're been having a lot of fun and relaxing. We've gone shopping, walked on the beach, swam in the very warm inside pool, gone around a lazy river, eating out, cooking in our kitchen, played in the sand, rode a merry-go-roundand watched Daddy ride the waves. We head towards Columbus, OH on Friday to attend a wedding and celebrate Dylan and Bekah's b-day. I will post more later. We currently have to sit in a parking lot of a sister hotel to post.

Spartanburg, SC

Well, about 30 miles from our destination to meet Faithe and Nathan, we got a flat tire. Getting back on the highway. The same tire that we replaced about 9 months ago when we went down the street (literally). We're on our way to drop off the van and then do some sight-seeing.

Our Daughter

Despite Bekah's temper tantrums and choruses of "Mine!" every once-in-a-while, I love our daughter. Most of the time, without being asked or told, Bekah says "please" and "thank you." It is soooo sweet.

First Concert Over

Tonight was my first concert of the 2006-2007 school year. It went extremely well. I was very happy with my students. It was 8th grade night at the girls basketball team. I have the star player in my choir along with several cheerleaders, dance team, etc. Because of this we started at 6:45 instead of the normal 7:30. I think I'm going to do this more often. It was a small concert because of only having 8 weeks to prepare, but each group (6th, 7th, 8th) performed two pieces. We started at 6:45 and we were done by 7:10. I was home before 8 pm!!! It was awesome!! 3 more days before we head to Myrtle Beach for 5 days!!!!

Presents

Bekah in cute outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Helwig.
Bekah's birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Fannin.

Party #1

Friends of ours (who love Bekah as much as Aunts and Uncles) were gracious enough to host a little party for Bekah. This week was very stressful for me and our house is messy, so it was wonderful for them to offer. It was a nice time.

The Cake

Any guesses as to what it is??
Bekah knew. :~)

Zoo Pics

Looking at sealion. Polar bear doing a flip in front of us.

Daddy and Bekah looking at Kangaroos, and the Gorilla.

The Elephants.

We discovered on this trip to the zoo that Bekah is nothing like her cousin Dylan when she's seeing the animals. She wants to stay and watch for a while, while Dylan after "seeing" the animals says, "Okay, let's go see another animal."

The Birthday Weekend

Well, Bekah's birthday is actually tomorrow, but since we won't have much time tomorrow as a family, we spent this weekend celebrating Bekah's birthday. She's 2 tomorrow; we can hardly believe it.

Here are several pictures from this weekend and a few from other times.

This one is the last one we took at the Cincinnati Zoo yesterday. I had looked at the pictures we'd taken, and none of them had me in the picture, so we had to document that I was there.

My new dresser that we were miraculously able to fit all of my and Bobby's stuff in. We've made room for the bassinette to enter the room in the next several months.

This is of a dress my mom and I found at Once Upon a Child. So cute!!

The Week's Happenings

We are Tired!!! Bekah has been going to bed late and getting up extremely early and doesn't want to go back to sleep, most of this week. For example, last night I actually had to hold her for her to go to sleep at around 10 pm, and she was up at 3 am, yes 3 am acting like it was time to play. She finally went back to sleep around 5:30 and I got up at 7am. So this means 4 1/2 hours of sleep for a very long day at the end of a very long week. (Bobby and Bekah slept till after 9!!)
Yesterday was especially eventful because two of my students decided to push the chairs off the tables all around the room while I was down the hall on hall duty. Then they preceeded to lie about it and blamed another student who wasn't even in the room. This student preceeded to hit the wall and run out of the building. The one who kept on lying about it got 5 days OSS and the other one got 3 days OSS. It was a crazy morning.
Today was great, I was just tired from a week of interrupted sleep. (Bekah is standing on the couch next to me right now with her arm around my neck giving me hugs and kisses while she watches, Muppets Take Manhattan, a movie that we watch almost once a day right now. Gotta love her!!)
Tomorrow we go to Cincinnati to meet Bobby's parents at the zoo to celebrate Bekah's b-day. She will be 2 on Monday. My how time flies!! Sunday we celebrate with the people that have become Bekah's fill-in Aunts and Uncles here in town. We are attempting to make a whale cake. Last year we made a Nemo cake, and it turned out really well, so I'm optimistic.
Well, better get going. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. One more week and we head to Myrtle Beach for Fall Break!!! Whoopee!!

NO MORE WHOLE MILK!!

As of tonight, we are a one-kind-of-milk family. Bekah is 1 week away from her 2nd birthday, so instead of buying another gallon of whole milk, I let it run out, and she started in on the 2% tonight. She is definitely getting enough calcium. She had a cheese stick, a whole yogurt, and 4-5 glasses of milk today. It feels good to only have to buy one kind of milk for a while.
