30 weeks

Rebekah (also happens to be my first day of school in August 2004)
Sarah

I'm definitely bigger than with Bekah (but am holding steady at 20 lbs gained, I lost 2 pounds when I was preparing for the 3 hour glucose test, but have put that back on). The shirt that I'm wearing at 30 weeks with Bekah does not fit very well right now, even with a shirt underneath and it partially unbuttoned.

Thankfulness

Pictures of the finished crib, all ready for Sarah.

Also, the thankfulness has to do with answered prayer. I mentioned the other day that we didn't have a great weekend. It was because our babysitter for this semester backed out 1 week before Bobby's classes. We had been calling everyone to find someone different for next week.

Well, today we got confirmation from a lady that goes to our church that lives down the street. She will be watching Bekah for the next 8 weeks, or less if Sarah comes early. Thank you to all of those that have been praying for the situation.

On a side note, Bekah is running a fever over 100 and just plain sick. Pray that she will be able to get over this quickly. All of us have been under-the-weather in some way or another for the past 2-2.5 weeks.

Pictures Galore

This is a picture of Bekah Sunday morning while she's eating her bagel and watching SesameStreet.com games. Too cute!!

Tonight I made Bekah mini corn dogs, noodles, and raw green beans, (just the way she likes them.) When I put them down in front of her, she said, "roli, roli" which is her word for ravioli. I asked her if she wanted ravioli, she said, YES!! She sat at the table waiting patiently while I made the ravioli.

This weekend was not very wonderful. Several things happened that got me down. When I came home from school today, Bobby had done something for me that I'd really been wanting to do. He rearranged Bekah's room, soon to become Bekah and Sarah's room, and set up the crib. It was so exciting!!

There are still a few things to do, but we're getting there. 10 weeks to go, at the most!!

She strikes again!!

Our 2-year-old, in the past few months, has had crazy sleeping habits. Since Christmas, she has been oon a pretty normal schedule if normal is going to bed after 10 pm and getting up around 7 is normal for a 2-year-old.
Last night, she went back to her old ways. Hopefully temporarily!! She went to bed around 10 pm, we went to bed around midnight, and she came in our room around 3:15 am. She did not go back to sleep until at least 6 am. (either did we) She got put back in her bed around 7:15 am and just got up (9:15 am).
Unusual sleeping habits Bekah!!!

Dress Up and SesameStreet.com

On my "snow day" Wednesday, Bekah had fun dressing up and dancing around in the kitchen.

Her and I also had fun playing games on SesameStreet.com.
On a side note, I am currently almost 29.5 weeks, and this baby is just as active as Bekah was in the womb. She kicks me constantly. Up in my ribs, everywhere!! It is getting harder and harder for me to play on the floor with Bekah without laying down. 10 more weeks!!

STILL NO NEWS.....

And the doctor's office closes in 30 minutes. We are officially at 53 hours since I finished my test. I think that I was successful!!! Yeah!!!

Edit: Office now closed!! Yeah!! I passed!! Thank you for all your prayers.

SNOW DAY!!

This is what it looks like outside our window this morning, and we have no school. It's crazy!! Most of our area, including the big city schools, is closed today. There are a lot of rural, windy roads in our area, so I understand, but right outside our window, there's basically nothing. Doesn't matter to me, I get a day at home with my family!!

The other picture is of Bekah in her baby stroller. She was pushing her bear around and then I hear, "Push, Push her." I look over and see this.........

NO NEWS YET

I haven't gotten a phone call, so so far, so good. :~)

No news will mean good news

I got through it. Barely. After 12 hours of fasting, then getting my blood drawn 4 times in the next 3 hours, I was tired!! I ate in the car as I drove to school. Got there at 12:30. My class started at 12:45. I almost left after 6th grade chorus, but kept perservering. I'm still a bit worn out, but I am not limiting myself, so I should have more energy later.
They will not call me unless I failed the test. So, no news is good news. The lady said 24-48 hours, but usually closer to 24, so if I haven't heard anything by Wednesday afternoon, I should be good.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers today. They were greatly appreciated!!

3 hour glucose test tomorrow

Please pray for me tomorrow morning as I will be taking my 3 hour glucose test. I am very nervous about it. I have been watching my carbs and sugar intake very, very closely since Wednesday morning. I have been eating between 80-100 g of carbs per day, (1 plain Panera bagel has 61 g of carb), and 20-30 g of sugar per day, if not less. (1 Yoplait yogurt whip has 23 g of sugar) Aren't you proud of me???
When I took the 1 hour test on Wednesday, I did not expect to be over the limit. I didn't have any trouble with Bekah, and I feel as though I've been eating very similarly.
Needless to say, I am worried about being over and having to do this diet for 10 weeks!! If you have a chance say a little prayer for me.

Bathing Suits

We usually keep a rope hooked on a hook towards the top of our linen closet because the handle is one Bekah can open. For some reason the other day, it wasn't hooked, and she got the door open. She proceeded to play with my and her bathing suits for about a half an hour. I didn't put her bottoms on her head. She did it!!

28 weeks ( appointments every two weeks, here we come)

28 weeks today!! This is before I went to my glucose screening and failed. This means I have to go back and do the 3 hour test on Monday morning. FUN!! I blame it on the Christmas season sweets, and having a 2 year old, so I have no energy to exercise anymore after teaching 200 middle schoolers. So, for the next 5 days I am on low sugar, low carbohydrates so I don't have to do it for the rest of my pregnancy. The doctor says that my weight, blood pressure, iron, etc, is great!! so she doesn't think I have anything to worry about, but I'm not taking any chances!!

I have also added a picture of Bekah and I reading the other night. She can no longer lay against my belly. She has to lay to the side, or sit the way she's sitting in the picture. So cute!! Lots of fun!!

Recent Happenings

Pictures and explanations from the last few weeks

Sunset a few weeks ago when Bekah and I went outside to play. Bekah running down a hill the same night as the sunset.
Passed out on the couch. It was a late nap one day, so we didn't want her in her room sleeping forever.
Cute Bekah with hair up, but she will not keep it in for more than a few seconds, and one of the best pictures I've gotten of her face in a while. (She's wearing her new outfit from Christmas from Aunt Melissa, Uncle Rich, Dylan, and Ethan)
The whole outfit. Jacket included. Bekah eating a snack.

Bekah wearing the Buckeye cheerleading outfit that the Weitekamp girls have grown out of.

52 School Days......

Until I go on maternity leave. That is, if I make it to my due date this time. 52 days will take me to Spring Break. Then, after Spring Break, there are three school days till my due date. I don't think I'm going to make it till April 11, but I'd at least like to make it to Large Group Choral Festival. (March 21st) We've been working really hard, and I want to be there directing my kids. I know my sub could do it, but my name will still be on the judges sheet. Festival is during my 37th week of pregnancy. I had Bekah at 36.5 weeks. What do you think? Am I going to make it?

In the Mail

I mailed it today!!! Yeah. No more graduate work until 2008!!

DONE!!!!

Yeah!!! I am done!!! Now, all I have to do is make a copy of it for my records, in case it gets lost, have Bobby mail it, and start the process of renewing my Indiana License!! I am soooo excited!! Now I don't have to do anything else until 2008 when I need to start my actual masters program. (In Kentucky, you have to have half of a masters done within the first 5 years to renew your teaching license. Bobby will not be done with his MDiv before my license runs out. I got it back in 2004 when we thought we were moving, but didn't end up moving till 2005. Therefore, I only have 2 years left on it after this year. We're thinking Bobby has 3 more after this year.) By then, Bekah will be almost 4, and Sarah will be 1. Maybe they'll play together and let Mom do her school work each night after she comes home from teaching 200 middle schoolers. :~)

Close

I have finished my classwork for Graduate class #2. I am currently working on the final project and self-evaluation. I hope to finish it today so Bobby can mail it in tomorrow. Yeah!!!

2 year-old pictures (finally)

We finally got Bekah's 2 year pictures taken. (Almost 3 months later) My mom and I took Bekah last Wednesday to JcPenney in Columbus. Wow was it difficult to get these cute pictures!! One of the pictures I put in with me holding her arm, because that is what it was like the whole time. It was hard to get her to even sit in the chair. She wanted to jump off it. Also, the first photographer was a man, and she wouldn't even stand up for him, so we had to change to a woman. Hopefully by her 3 year pictures she will be a bit easier to work with.

Almost Done!!

I am now 4/5 of the way down with my second graduate class. I want to get it done this week because it takes 6-8 weeks for them to grade, and then I need to submit my paperwork to renew my Indiana Teacher's license by the end of April.

New Year's Eve in Pittsburgh, PA

Saturday morning, bright and early, Bekah, Bobby and I drove BACK to Columbus where Bobby spent most of the day helping my brother-in-law do some tasks around the house they moved in to right after Thanksgiving. Saturday night we relaxed, ate subs, and watched The Greatest Game Ever Played with my parents.

On Sunday, after lunch with my dad at Fazoli's, we put Bekah in my dad's car and headed towards Pittsburgh for the wedding of our good friends Matt and Amy. Bekah proceeded to sleep all the way home and until 4:30 pm, after my mom got home from work. My dad didn't have to even change a diaper!!

We got to our hotel in Pittsburgh around 4 pm. Relaxed for a few hours, and then headed for the 7 pm wedding. It was a beautiful, God honoring wedding. Matt and Amy, at the beginning of the ceremony, recited parts of Psalms 34 together. It was so wonderful to be there with them to share their special day!!

We headed back to the hotel around 10 pm, relaxed a bit until after the ball dropped, and then went to bed. We didn't even have sparkling grape juice to toast. Pittsburgh was all out!!! We got up at 6:20 am, got ready, and headed back to Columbus by around 10:15 am. We played a few rounds of Barnyard Rummy and ate P.F. Chang's for lunch (yummy, but they again messed up our order), and then headed out to come home around 2:30 pm.

It has been a whirlwind weekend, but all-in-all, a wonderful time with family and friends.

I must go do a few things; school tomorrow!!! Ahhh!!!

Christmas #3 (December 28th)

On Wedesday night, Dec. 27, Bekah and I drove back from Columbus. Bobby's parents, sister, and her husband arrived on Thursday morning for a couple days of celebration.
