Sarah's birthday was towards the end of March, and Leah's birthday was a week ago. For Sarah's "friend" party, I made a monkey cake. (Bobby decorated it.) For Leah's family birthday, I made a butterfly cake. For Sarah's family party, we did monkey cupcakes. I decorated these, but for some reason, there wasn't a picture taken, oops!

Leah's new favorite thing in the car is to do everything herself. Or, as she says, "self, self."

A couple weeks ago, while letting her climb into the car and into her seat by herself, she ran past and into the back. This had become a normal thing, but I could usually get her to come back. After much coaxing, she wouldn't come.

I said, "Leah, if you don't come back here, I'm going to smack your butt."

She cam over to her seat, started to crawl up in her seat, and just left her butt sticking out. Then she started to say, "smack it, smack it!"

Leah has this new obsession with pretending to change her baby dolls diapers after I change her diaper. She uses the changing pad (since we don't have a changing table) and always asks for a wipe.
After I just changed her, she wanted to do this, and was in the middle of trying to re-unfold the changing pad when I tried to give her a wipe. (she MUST have a real wipe to change an unreal diaper)

I said, "Here." She said, "Minute, minute." She picks up so much!! Then, 5 seconds later, she is running to her room (after finding a baby) saying, "Minute, minute" and then asks me to get a diaper for her.

As I finish typing this, she is calling help from the playroom for me to come help her change the diaper.

Yesterday, as we're sitting on the stairs putting shoes on, getting ready to go get Rebekah. I noticed that Leah's nose was running. I didn't have a tissue handy, so I told her I'd get it after we got shoes on. Before I could get one, she used her sleeve to wipe it and proudly said, "Got it!" Later that day, it happened again! Gross! Who is teaching her these things?

As I was checking my e-mail right now, Rebekah came in and asked me when I was going to clean my room. Excuse me, I just cleaned it yesterday, I just didn't make my bed this morning. She then proceeded to make the bed, fold the "slightly worn" clothes at the end of the bed, and started cleaning up various things around our room. She then proceeded to ask me why I didn't clean up my room more often. Hmmm, let me think, maybe because I'm always cleaning the rest of the house and my room is the last thing to be cleaned. ??!!!

Sarah has been focusing a lot on writing letters and wanting to write words. She just walked into my room with a pad of paper and a pencil and asked me if I knew how to write in Chinese. She was very disappointed when I told her that I don't know how.

Before we left to pick up Rebekah from school today, I stepped out the front door to get the mail. We live in a neighborhood where the mailman walks, so our mailbox is attached to the house, right outside the door. Sarah was sitting on the steps inside putting her shoes on. When I came back in, she said, "Wow, you're fast at getting the mail! Daddy's fast at getting the mail too because he's tall. It's the only thing he's fast at!!"

Hmmm, really Sarah??!!?? Is Daddy such a slow poke about everything else? I tend to agree :~)

At the beginning of the school year, I bought a huge pack of pencils. I sent the required 10 to school with Rebekah and kept the rest at home to refill at a later date. A couple months in, she told me she was down to 2 pencils, so I sent the other 30 or so in for her, thinking that it would last her the rest of the year.

About a month ago, I got another notice from the teacher telling me that she was almost out of pencils. I was flabbergasted!! Me, "Rebekah, how can you be out of pencils?" Her, "They break!" Me, "So you sharpen them!" Her, "No, I throw them away."

She throws them away!! When they break, she throws them away!! I talked to her about how she needs to take the time to sharpen them and not throw them away, and bought her 12 more. I got another notice yesterday. She needs more pencils!

Come on, how many pencils are we going to use this year??!??

Tonight, after we all got home from various church activities, we were sitting around the table (all but Leah, she was running around) having a snack while Bobby was eating his dinner. (He doesn't eat until after youth group, he goes straight there from his "day" job.) I got up to do something, and when I came back, Leah was sitting in my seat. I just stood next to the chair talking to the people at the table. Leah got down, grabbed my legs, and moved me toward the chair saying, "Here Mommy, Here Mommy!" Such a sweetie!! So polite!

Leah is very tall for her age. She is not even 22 months old and is 2 full inches taller than what her sisters where at this age. Because of this, she has no problem opening doors. Very frustrating!
Lately she has taken to opening the ballroom door, standing on the toilet, and turning on the water in the sink. Sometimes she just holds her hands under, but other times she finds things to get wet in the water. Two times it has been our Ken doll now.

Mooshu has done so many silly things since we got her in early January, but lately she has been climbing the drying rack while I'm in the laundry room. It is so cute! Sometimes she gets stuck and starts to fall. She just wants to be close to me!

Next to Sarah's side of the bed she shares with Rebekah, there is a wood end table that she is able to pull a small plastic chair up to. Because Bekah has a full-sized desk in the room to do her homework at, Sarah calls this end table her desk.

Tonight, as the girls were cleaning up their stuff, Bobby instructed Sarah to take a clipboard she has with paper on it and put it on her "desk."

This was her response: "But what about my homework?"

She is always so particular about keeping her "desk" clean. She doesn't want to put anything on it so that she won't be able to do her homework, which she never really has. :~)

After a very long break, I am back at blogging. I have decided to use this blog to share funny stories about my kiddos and a few pictures.

Today, Sarah walked into the kitchen while I was making lunch (with Leah following close behind.) She was carrying a baby doll.

She somberly asked, "Mommy, when are we going to have real babies?"

"Well, Sarah, we already had one, it's Leah. She just grew up!"

Sarah, "No, when am I GOING TO HAVE BABIES?"

Me, "Well, when you grow up, find a husband, and get married."

She leaned against the refrigerator and looked really nervous. "That's scary!" (with a quiver in her voice)

"Which part?"

"The getting married part!"

"Believe it or not, having babies is almost as scary as getting married!"

We are in contract on a house, finally, and will close June 11th. It is a HUD foreclosure and we got it for a GREAT price!! We hope to do a lot of work from June 12th through the end of June and move in slowly starting in July. I do not want to be living among a lot of boxes, so we will unpack a lot before we move in. We are not going to have too much cash left after our 20% down-payment, so we will be doing the "necessary" things (bedroom doors, painting, etc) and doing other things as we live there. We appreciate all the prayers that have gotten us to this point. God is Faithful!!

It has been wayyyyyyy toooooooo long, but I will try to update you quickly.

Bobby- loves his new job(s). Sometimes I get tired of the stories, but I am very thankful that he is enjoying what he is doing.

Bekah- is excelling at kindergarten. She is reading, it is amazing!! She has also started soccer and is having a blast. Her first game was last week and by the end, she was really stepping up and doing great!

Sarah- is loving her tumbling class and has made a new friend from the class. We have been over to their house a couple times to play and we even had a playdate at a park. She is also finally potty training. During the day and at night. We are so proud of her and thankful to not have to buy pull-ups anymore.

Leah- is growing like a weed. She is crawling every where, pulling herself up on everything, and starting to climb steps. She will be 1 in just a few short weeks. She still only has 2 teeth, but is starting to get the top ones, hopefully. She only eats table food, so sometimes it is hard to get it small enough for her to gum.

I, Paula, am doing well. Even though the life of a SAHM is sometimes monotonous, I am enjoying being able to spend time with the kiddos and my nephews. I am playing the piano for the wedding of my good friend, Sally, in a few short weeks, so I am excited to use my piano skills that have been dormant for a while.

We are in the process of buying our first home. We have bid on a short sale and are waiting for the bank to approve the bid, but we have also bid on another home that is larger and better for our family. They have closed the bids and we will find out tomorrow night whether they have accepted our offer or not.

The big day

Bobby started his new job this morning. He had to be there at 8, and my sister (who works at the same company) suggested he leave at 7:15 am until he got the traffic pattern down. He left at 7:05 (wanted to leave at 7) and got there at 7:38 am. I convinced him that he doesn't have to leave until 7:15 tomorrow.

I started taking Bekah to school, allong with the girls. We survived!

This shift, 8-5, is only during training, and there is the possibility of him be switched to 9-6 or 10-7. I am secretly hoping for 9-6, even though it would mean he would miss dinner with the girls. It just would be very helpful if he could still take Bekah to school.

Jobs, jobs, jobs

Bobby starts his full-time job on Feb. 1.

Bobby starts his part-time youth ministry internship Feb. 7.

This Sunday will be our last Sunday at our current church. Pray for the girls. I'm a bit worried about their transition. This is the first church Bekah really has friends that she talks about, and it took Sarah along time to get used to church, but now loves her classes. Leah has never been in the nursery, so I'm not that worried about her, but more about me dealing with them essentially by myself since Bobby will be occupied.

We are starting to take steps to get pre-approved for a loan to buy a house, but there is not much out there that we think we will be able to afford. I am anxious to get back in our own space.

Currently waiting to hear about an interview Bobby had last week. We would appreciate your prayers. This job would solidify us being able to get our own place again. We're not sure if we'd be able to buy a house right away, but we'd at least be able to get back on our own.

Christmas 2009

2009, year in review-

2009 has been a year filled with ups and downs but a lot of celebrations.

January- We found out we were having daughter #3. I think we were all hoping it was a boy, but after we were told it was a girl, we rejoiced in the fact that there wouldn’t be as many surprises. We’d already had two beautiful girls! We were originally going to name her Anah, but in the end, we landed on Leah.

February- I passed my glucose test! I was very excited about this! I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with Sarah and was miserable. I was determined not to have it again! I kept my exercise up and watched my carbohydrate intake. In the end, I passed with FLYING colors.

March- We celebrated Sarah’s 2^nd birthday with a Dora party. Much fun was had by all. We also traveled to Wapakoneta, Ohio to meet our friends the Swans to borrow many baby items for the upcoming birth of Leah.

April- We celebrated the birth of our 1^st niece, Emma Mae Catherine Haeck, born to Bobby’s sister Faithe and her husband Nathan. I also cut Sarah’s hair for the first time during this month. My mom, sister, and I went up to Amish Country in Ohio over night with no kids and no husbands. It was a lot of fun! I walked a bit more than I really wanted to, but it was nice to be away over night.

May- We celebrated the birth of our 3^rd daughter, Leah Pauline Fannin, born May 9^th, the day before Mother’s Day. She weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long. She stayed in the longest and was the heaviest of our three daughters, but since then, she has slowed down. She is still the longest, but is a good 2 pounds lighter than her sisters when they were her age.

Two weeks after she was born, we traveled to Kentucky for Bobby’s graduation from Asbury Theological Seminary.

June- We celebrated Bobby’s 30^th b-day and my paternal grandfather’s 80^th birthday while in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We also celebrated our 7^th wedding anniversary.

July- We celebrated my 29^th birthday. Rebekah took swim lesson, finally! The first time we enrolled her in swim lessons was soon after she got her broken leg cast off, and she cried the whole time through the first two lessons. After the second lesson, she fell off the climbing wall part of the indoor playground and broke her arm. Therefore, no swim lessons until the next year. She did much better this time. The only part she did not enjoy was the games that they played. She just wanted to work on her strokes.

August- Bekah was tested for early admittance to kindergarten and passed with flying colors. She scored in the 97^th percentile. The “average” kindergartener enters with a score in the 50^th percentile. She goes to school for 2 hours and 45 minutes, 5 days per week. She is having a blast! She is bouncy, as her teacher puts it, but doing wonderfully academically!!

September- Sarah started taking swimming lessons and a tumbling class. She had a bit of a rough start with tumbling, really didn’t enjoy it the first week, but now loves it! She is upset when we have a week off. She also thrived in swim lessons. She took a parent class with Bobby, who enjoyed being “dunked” by Sarah. Rebekah also took a ballet class, which she enjoyed thoroughly. It was neat to see her focusing on the instructor during the rehearsal.

October- Rebekah, our baby girl, turned 5! We had a Glow Putt birthday part along with a rainbow cake. Mommy and Daddy were a lot more successful with this cake. We hardly argued at all!!

November- Rebekah lost her first tooth. She woke up one morning and said her mouth felt weird. I looked at her mouth and noticed her tooth looked a bit weird. I wiggled it and it was very, very loose. Within a week, it was out. It actually came out the day before she was scheduled to go to the dentist for her cleaning. Leah also started sitting up during this month. One day she wasn’t even doing “the tripod” and the next day she was sitting up very well for 3-4 minutes at a time by herself! She’s growing so fast!

Finally we look forward to another year. Our family is changing so much and we are excited to see where the Father is leading us. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and have a merry and blessed Christmas!

I cut Sarah's hair again. It really needed it. We're getting closer and closer to having her bangs "grown out." I think her hair is adorable, but I'm biased because I cut it. :)

4 months old

Leah turned 4 months old on September 9th. On September 15th, after having to reschedule the original appointment because of conflicts with the time (around same time as picking up Bekah from kindergarten), Leah and I, and the other 3 kiddos (because it was in the afternoon) went to the doctor for Leah's appointment.
She was 13 lbs, 11.5 ounces and 25.5 inches. 90th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. Her growth has definitely slowed down. She is very,very close to what her sisters were at this age.
At this age, Bekah had gained almost 8 pounds and Sarah almost 6. Leah has only gained a bit over 5 lbs.
She is sleeping around 11 hours at night and 5, 30-45 minute naps during the day. A beautiful girl!! Lucky to have her in our family!!

Last year, Bekah cried for the first 2 nights of swim lessons and then broke her arm and couldn't finish, so I was nervous about this year. She cried a lot the first day, but stayed in the water, and for the rest of the 2 weeks, she didn't cry and did most of the stuff, but didn't want to go under water.

8 weeks old!!

Yesterday, Leah turned 8 weeks old. On Thursday, she will officially be 2 months old. I am excited to see how much she weighs and how long she is. She has already outgrown 0-3 onsies and outfits that are all in one piece. Her torso is really long.
On Friday evening, we returned from a whirlwind trip to Tennessee for my Grandpa's 80th b-day and we also spent a few days in Atlanta with Bobby's family. It was a very trip, but I am glad to be back in our element where Leah actually naps without being held (in her big swing) and sleeps really well at night.
I will post more pictures of our trip when I have the chance.

On June 20th, Bobby turned 30!! It's hard to believe, because he doesn't look a day over 22, but he is officially old!! Just kidding hubby!!

This year he had 3 birthday celebrations. The first was on Saturday around lunch time. Bobby's parents, along with his sister and nearly 8 week old daughter came over and we met at a park for lunch and to play with the kiddos. We got KFC's new grilled chicken and had a cookie cake. It was hot, but we sat under a nice shelter, and later, while the kiddos played, we found a nice tree to sit under.

On Saturday evening, we had a birthday/anniversary dinner with my parents. Bobby's birthday and my parents' anniversary are the same day. We had steak, vegetable packets, and a key lime pie. Yummm!!!

On Sunday afternoon, right after church, we had lunch with my sister and her family along with my parents. We got gourmet hot dogs from a place called The Dog Joint and an apple pie. The kiddos were treated to homemade ice cream sandwiches that I made the night before because they don't like apple pie.

All-in-all, it was a very nice weekend, busy, but nice!!

She's Growing Up

She is growing up fast. She struggling throughout the day to find her peace. She will sleep on me for a bit, only in her bed for about 5 minutes, and in the bouncy seat/swing for a few more than that. Sometimes I cannot even get her to calm down by holding her. She just screams!!

At night, she goes down pretty easily, by 10 and usually gets up between 4 and 5 and then goes back down until 7:30ish. I guess I should be thankful for this, but it is still very hard physically and mentally to deal with the house and the other 2 kiddos while Leah is screaming!! Say a prayer for me and the girls if you think about us. Sometimes it's so bad that the girls plug their ears during lunch.

Is tomorrow. I am being induced at 9 am, if I make it. I was monitored for about 20 minutes at the doctor's office because I have been feeling Leah move less recently, and during that 20 minutes, I had 3 contractions. I'm still not feeling well, so who knows, now that I've scheduled an induction, she'll probably come on her own.

Be praying for us. I'm excited, but still nervous. Look for pictures by tomorrow night or Sunday morning.

I'm having some pre-labor depresson. I am now farther along in this pregnancy than I've ever been before, and I am getting impatient and want to be done, but then if she doesn't come by Sunday, I want her to wait another week. It's complicated!!

~I want her to come by Sunday so I can come home by Tuesday. My parents leave for Hawaii early Tuesday morning and I really need their help with Bekah and Sarah while we're in the hospital. (my sister is here and my friend Amy is coming, but if you add all the kids up, that's 5 kids with 3 adults, and I'd really like my parents to be able to help also)
~I also want to be home by Tuesday because Bekah, Ethan, and Dylan have their AWANA awards night on Wednesday evening. For the first 20 weeks or so of Awana this year, I was taking the kids, helping them learn their verses, etc, and it would break my heart (and dissapoint Bekah) if I couldn't be at the awards ceremony. Bobby's been taking the kiddos the last few weeks, but recently Bekah has been wanting me to take them.
~I have the option of being induced on May 8th, but my parents are gone until May 14th, I don't really want to schedule to be induced while they're gone. Again, I want/need their help, emotionally, physically, etc.
~My friend Amy is coming for a whole week starting Tuesday evening, and even though she will be a ENORMOUS help no matter when she comes, I'd really like to have Leah before she comes.
~I really feel like I'm not being a good mom/wife/aunt lately. I cannot sit on the floor and play with the kiddos, I get tired easily trying to get them to clean up after themselves, and I am really not motivated at all to do anything fun with them. Then, when Bobby gets home, all I want to do is sit with my feet up using the computer or lay in bed with my feet up watching Gilmore Girls. I'm just blah!!

So, if you think of me over the next few days, please say a prayer that God's timing is perfect and that I can come to have a stronger realization of this. I need to be emotionally set for labor.

Sunday- the day I would really, really, like to be coming home from the hospital.

I know I can't control these things, but I'm starting to get impatient.

Sarah's first haircut

I cut Sarah's hair on Saturday for the first time. It was getting very stringy in the back and getting in her eyes. I still want to brush her hair to the side, not create bangs like Bekah, but they were just really uneven. Sarah will let me put clips in her, Bekah didn't leave them in till she was 3.5, so she had to have bangs.
Bobby didn't take any pictures of Sarah after, just a video, so you'll have to wait to see pictures of the hair after. :)

Bekah has a new love. Baseball. It is soooo cute!! A couple weeks ago, she announced she wanted to be a basketball player, a baseball player, and a cheerleader. My mom found this cute pink and black bat and pink ball and she started using it the other night. The first ball that Bobby pitched to her she hit!! It is really cute to watch.
Sarah got her first ear infection. Bekah still has never had one. Sarah had a bit of a runny nose a few weeks ago when she was getting her 2 year molars. It seemed to go away, and then came back with a bang. I took her to the doctor today thinking that she had a sinus infection. (She wasn't pulling on her ears or anything) But it ended up being an ear infection. She was a trooper taking her medicine when we got home this evening.

After tomorrow, it will be the longest I have ever been pregnant. Sarah was born at 37.5 weeks.. Bekah was born at 36.5 weeks. I am ready to be done!! Can you tell??

(At doctor on Friday, I was dilated 2 cm, 75% effaced, and she had dropped a lot from the week before.)

Last week, I took Sarah and Bekah to have Sarah's 2 year pictures taken, and a picture of the two of the them because it had been a year since they had a picture together. These are the only 2 pictures that Sarah smiled in. The second one of just Sarah, is actually of Sarah and Bekah, the photographer just zoomed in on Sarah because we really hadn't gotten anything good from Sarah by herself.

After my dr. appointment on Friday, my mom and I took the girls to the zoo to see the baby elephant. We also saw a couple other animals, but we did wait 45 minutes to see the baby elephant.

Nephew Ethan's first goal

My nephew Ethan, will be 5 at the end of May, had his first soccer game on Saturday. It was sooooo cold. The temp. was 40, but the wind chill was 32. We were freezing!! He had an awesome goal!! He also scored another goal later during the game, but it was actually for the other team. He, and several of his little teammates, didn't quite understand switching goals after half time. By the way, in case you're wondering, they don't use goalies at this age.

38 days till due date,
14 days from when I had Bekah,
21 days from when I had Sarah,
28 days till my friend Amy and her daughter come for a week while my parents are in Hawaii,
31 days from being induced if she hasn't come yet (but the doctor and I highly doubt I will make it there),
3 potential weekends left to get things ready!!

I am getting soooo tired. There are so many things to get done, but my body is giving out on me. When I have the motivation to get things done, my legs are swollen and it hurts me more to do anything. When I have put my legs up for a bit and feel better, I no longer have the motivation to do any of the things on the "to-do" list.

Prayer requests:
1) Getting through the next few weeks, physically, emotionally, mentally, etc.
2) Transition from 2 to 3 kiddos. Having patience when I am exhausted!!
3) Easy delivery. I am actually praying that this delivery will be like Sarah's, fast!!! At the time, it was scary, but afterwards, I recovered so much faster.
4) A full-time job for Bobby. He is finishing up seminary in May (yah!!!) and is currently only working part time. The plan was for us to be out in July from my parents', but then this baby came along and it would be a lot easier on everyone if we could get out earlier. We just need more space.

Also, if anyone has any recipes or meal ideas for things that freeze well, I would greatly appreciate them. I don't want a lot of pasta though, so more different ideas are very helpful. My friend Amy and daughter are coming while my parents are gone to help, but I don't want Amy to have to cook every night. I want her to be able to relax and just help with the kiddos.

My sister is taking a couple days off right after to help with transition, but after that I will still be watching my nephew. Bobby will go over in the morning and get our older nephew off to school and then bring the younger nephew back to my parents' house to play with the big girls. I know this sounds crazy, but except for a few squabbles throughout the day, they actually keep each other occupied better than if nephew wasn't around.

I went to the doctor this morning, 34 week appointment. I had an ultrasound today to check the baby's size. The tech. estimated that she is 5 lbs. 11 oz right now. If I go full term, doubt it, she will be about 8 pounds. My doctor will check me in 2 weeks to see if I'm dilated at all. I have a few more things to get done before she arrives, but I am getting more and more ready!

Last weekend, my mom and sister and I went up to Amish Country in Ohio, mostly around Berlin. We stayed at a fabulous hotel, The Carlile Inn. We got a HUGE suite completely with a whirlpool and fireplace. We shopped, went out to dinner, swam in the pool, they went in the hot tub while I enjoyed the whirlpool in the room, slept in, ate a wonderful breakfast, shopped some more, and ate lunch. It was a nice break away from kids and husbands. It was a fun little trip before baby Leah comes.

On March 5th, we made Unicorn Horns. We took sugar cones and spread fat free cool whip (kroger brand) on them with a knife. Then we rolled them in mini M & M's. They were yummy!!

On March 6th, my mom and I took the kiddos to COSI. Dylan didn't have school, and my mom knows how stressful it is to have all 4 kids at home all day, so she took the day off and we took the kiddos to do something fun. It about killed me!! So much walking and tending to children. At the beginning, my mom took Dylan (8 years old) to do some stuff by himself and I watched the other 3 for an hour by myself in the toddler room. It is huge! I never knew where all 3 of them were at once. It was probably the part that made me the most tired.

We got there around 10 am and left around 2 pm. I was exhausted that night!! Because of how tiring it was for me, I only took a few pictures there.
Even though it was tiring for me, it was really fun for the kids, and was much better than refereeing at home all day. They tend to get REALLY rambunctious when they're together for a long period of time.

Silly Sarah Part 2

Yesterday, we went to the park to play on the playground. It is a park that is reasonably close to my sister's house. We used to walk there. We drive now. I just can't keep up with them for that long of a distance.

I put Sarah up on an area where she was pretending to drive. Because it was pretty high up and the only way down is a way Sarah can't do yet, I stood pretty close watching her. There were a lot of other kids there. (it was a nice day) Two bigger kids (probably Bekah's age) came towards me, eying the route down. They decided to go through a tunnel instead. Meanwhile, Miss Sarah saw them near me and starting saying, "That's my mommy! That's my mommy!" Even after they were gone, she shook her hand in their direction and repeated, "That's my mommy!!" Such a silly girl!!

Things Sarah's been doing/saying Part 1

It's amazing to think that our "baby" is already 2 years old. It just feels like yesterday that I went from 7 cm to 10 cm in 15 minutes and didn't had time for an epidural, the doctor didn't make it into the room before she "pushed herself out" cause I couldn't hold her back any more, and we were shocked to find out she was 2 whole pounds heavier than Bekah, despite only being in utero 1 week longer. Time flies, and soon we're going to have another baby. I am 33 weeks today and so ready to deliver this baby!!

A couple things Silly Sarah has been doing lately...

1) I recently read that Sarah should be forming 3 word sentences pretty regularly. The other day, after we finished in the bathroom, I told her I had to go potty now. This is EXACTLY how she replied to me. "I'll shut the door for you." 6 words. This is a pretty normal experience. Yesterday she said something that was 7 words used correctly, but I was so tired yesterday that I can't remember what it is. It's nice to see that her very talkative sister is not keeping her from speaking her mind too.

2) Yesterday my mom was trying to show Sarah how a slinky goes down the stairs. It isn't a very high quality slinky, so my mom was having trouble. Sarah looked at my mom and said in a slightly dissappointed voice with a scowel on her face, "I'll come back." We laughed for a while about that one!! She is such a ham!!

3) She has been telling us lately she has to go potty but then doesn't want to actually sit on the potty. Yesterday, for the first time, she told me she had to go potty, we went in and she actually sat and went. She has told us before she pooped before, but not peep. I don't think she'll be completely trained before Leah comes, but something is better than nothing. (This is after she told me twice at Bob Evans where we were for lunch that she had to go, but only would attempt to sit and go once.)

On March 7, we met the Swan clan in Wapakoneta for lunch, exploration of the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum, and the borrowing in many necessary baby things. We had a fun filled Valentine's Day weekend this year. My parents offered to babysit all the kiddos Friday evening so that they would not be asked Saturday and could enjoy their own day, so we took them up on the offer.
After Bobby got home from work, we headed to Joe's Crab Shack. We had a coupon and a gift card, so after crab legs, steak, a side of hushpuppies as an appetizer, and tip, we only paid $11. We headed back to my parents' to pick up the girls for a family fun night.
We took them to a hotel for the night. It will probably be the last time it is just the 4 of us in a hotel, so we savored every moment of it. We put them in their jammies before heading to the hotel, got to the hotel around 9 pm and the girls proceeded to go crazy in the room until them conked out around 10:30 pm. Before them fell asleep, we gave them their bags with Strawberry Shortcake themed items from the Target $1 bins. They loved everything. They also gave their daddy the cards they had made. I also got a beautiful card with a picture that the girls had colored.
The next morning, we got up, had a wonderful breakfast, and then headed to the pool. The girls and I had a lot of fun. Bobby did a lot of chasing Sarah. :) After swimming, we went back and gave the girls a bath, and they got ready to go. Checkout was at Noon, and we left a bit after 11 am.
We headed home (to my parents') to enjoy the rest of the day. Sarah and Bobby napped while Bekah and I went to the grocery store. I wish I had my camera with me, cause I shoved so much into one of those movie carts at Meijer that Bekah had to hold food on her lap down in the car part of the cart. It was hilarious!! All-in-all, it was a wonderful weekend!

So sorry that I've been so bad about updating. Who thought I would actually do less posting as a stay-at-home-mom/nanny to my nephews than while teaching full-time? Not me.

Things continue to progress.

Bobby started his FINAL SEMESTER of seminary this week. Woohooo!!!! He is excited, but this is his heaviest load since Bekah was born, so say a prayer for strength. He is still waiting/looking for full-time pay that will allow us to buy a house and move out. We are starting to think it will not happen until after Leah makes her arrival, (probably at the end of April, early May) but are still open to what God may hold for our family.
Sarah is getting over a cold that Bekah passed to her. Bekah's consisted of 2 days of fever and then 6-8 days of runny/stuffy nose and coughing. Sarah is on the 3rd day of the nose stuff and coughing. Her appetite has been next to nothing, which is VERY unusual for her. She usually eats everything!! She is still potty training well. We have started to do pull-ups during the day and diapers at night. I am very excited at the thought of only 1 in diapers, but I am not holding my breath. :)
Bekah is continuing to grow and learn. She is starting to sound out 3 and 4 letter words with no help and can spell several 3 letter words also. Her birthday is 9 days past the cut off for kindergarten, but we are considering petitioning sending her early. I definitely think she's ready educationally. It would be nice to just have Sarah and Leah during the mornings every day. If they won't allow it, or we decide she's not ready, then we will definitely be doing the preschool at our church which has a 3, 4, or 5 mornings per week program. I'm leaning towards 4, but it will depend on my stress level with having a new baby, etc. She is finally getting over her cold where she probably lost a couple pounds, but she is normally a picker when she eats, and it has been even worse over these last 9 days.

I am still swimming every week, but I have cut it down to Mondays and Fridays. Wednesday were getting too tiring because I stay at my sister's house with all the kiddos for dinner and take them to church. I was leaving at 6 am and not getting home until 8:45 pm. I was tired!! Now I just walk on my sister's treadmill on Wednesday mornings before the boys wake up.
I have my glucose test on February 20th, and I am really hoping and praying that I do not have gestational diabetes with this pregnancy. The doctor said that there is a 40-50% chance I will because it's mostly hereditary. I am still hoping I won't though because I feel I didn't doing anything different "foodwise" with Sarah's pregnancy, I just wasn't active. It was the year I had a 20 minute lunch at school, and by the time I got home, I just wanted to collapse on the couch and read/watch TV with Bekah until dinner, then work on school stuff after she was in bed. I did not want to exercise at all!! With Bekah I had exercised at least 3x per week. I am hoping the swimming/walking 3x per week will keep me from having to regular my sugar levels via my carbohydrate intake. I love my carbs!! Please say a prayer for me in this area!!

You can barely see the road in front of the house. It still hasn't been plowed, and the snow stopped over an hour ago. The mailman is stuck a few houses down because the road is horrible!
Imagine several more inches of snow on top of my van and filling the street. This is what it looks like right now. I did take the kiddos outside and attempted to shovel some of the snow. Yes, I know I'm almost 6 months pregnant.

Early this morning we got an inch of ice on top of the 3-4 inches of snow the day before, and then it proceeded to snow 6 more inches. Because of this, we had a snow day. This means we didn't have to go over to my sister's house. We stayed at my parents' house. We did another craft that started with P to keep us occupied for a bit. We made Paper Bag Puppets. The girls had a lot of fun decorated their bags and taped the arms on. A fun and easy craft. Most of my crafty stuff is over at my sisters' house, but I think we did a nice job with what we had here.

A couple weeks ago, I think, Bekah and I make these great crayons out of broken crayon pieces. It was a lot of fun! We sent them to my friend Amy's baby Grace who turned 1 last month along with a coloring book. The only thing I would do differently next time is use muffin papers and tear them off after. I had to buy my mom new muffin tins because I was too lazy to clean the ones we used thorough. :)

Snow, snow, snow!!

My parents' deck last night.

We got a lot of snow during the day yesterday. It took Bobby 2 hours to travel the 21 miles home last night. The school district my brother-in-law works for let out 1 hour early, so I was able to get home by 2 pm and shovel the driveway. This same school district did not even have a delay this morning when everywhere around was delayed or closed. (I am only home for a bit longer because my sister decided not to go to work this morning.)
The county we live in is also under a Level 1 snow emergency and wind chill advisory. My parents' thermometer says that it is -2.4 degrees outside. We ended up getting about 7 inches.

Bobby found out today that they will be "pushing his packet through by the end of the week." This is in reference to all the "stuff" that has to be filled out/done before he can obtain a full-time job at UPS. We are ecstatic! We were starting to worry that the "timeline" was breaking down, but God once again has showed us that His timing and only His timing is perfect!
Continue to pray that a job opens up full-time and everything happens for us to buy a house and get in before Miss Leah decides to make her arrival.

So excited to announced that Bekah has decided she likes the name Leah. We are very happy! We always liked the name Leah better, but she always threw a fit about it. We were having trouble deciding on the spelling of Anah, so it is now going to be Leah Pauline.

I was wrong. It's another girl!

Her name is Anah Pauline. I know, not traditional, but I really wanted AH at the end to keep up the pattern, and this is a Hebrew form of Ana. I will post ultrasound pictures when I get a chance.

(PS, I only gained 1 pound in the last 4 weeks, and I hadn't been swimming for the last 2 because of my hip/holiday scheduling, etc. Yah!!!)

Pregnancy Praise/Update

My hip is doing much better. I have seen the physical therapist 3 times now, and I have 1 more visit scheduled. The baby has gotten bigger and moved up over the last couple weeks, so I think this has alleviated some pressure off my hip. I have started to have some lower back pain, but nothing unmanageable. Thank you for all your prayers! They are greatly appreciated.

Friday, 9 am, we find out the sex of the baby. I really think it's a boy, but I may be wrong. They say every pregnancy is different, and this one is definitely different from the last two.

Bobby's putting the girls to bed while I clean up. Sarah is running a fever and has been miserable all day. I hope Bekah calms down and lets her fall asleep.
